Hi All, For those of you who know my son Brian who helped in the store for many years as a child and young man, he moved to Australia in 2019. He is marrying an Australian woman this month and we are going to his wedding. I should be back around November 2nd. If you have any questions I will get to them when I return. Also, after 45 years in business at 401 Park Avenue in Scotch Plains, I will be closing the store on December 31, 2023 for good. I will however be continuing as a mail order business. I will continue to be available at 908-322-2676 for mail orders and hope to update and improve this website as well. Regards Joe
After 3 years of being closed to walk in customers, due primarily to Covid and latter the store being used to operate a mail and internet order business, I am open again. Effective immediately I will be open to the public Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon till 6 PM. I have made sure all showcases are fully stocked, most with fresh vintage merchandise. I hope to eventually have HO races on my 6 lane routed 16 x 5 1/2 foot table. Day and time will depend on interest level, so if you want to race let me know.
I will still be doing internet, mail and phone sales, so please LMK your interests at email@example.com or call during the above hours 908-322-2676. If you are planning a visit, especially if you are coming any distance, I would advise a phone call to verify that I will be available when you would like to visit. I will do my best to post times on this website when I might have to close for any reason.
Until July 22 all new Carrera and Scalextric 1/32 cars and sets are 15% off marked price (cash, Visa, Master Card or Discover only) This does not apply to vintage items. I look forward to your visits and calls.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: I WILL BE OPEN ONLY THROUGH THE 2023 CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AND THEN I WILL BE CLOSING THE STORE FOR GOOD.
For years Carrera was the ‘go to’ slot car company for 1/32 Formula One slot cars. Then two years ago, they stopped making F1 slot cars. Scalextric has just moved in to fill that void. Three releases from Scalextric, all classics and in my opinion great choices. First is the Lotus 99T in the Camel livery driven by Ayrton Senna and Satoru Nakajima beginning in 1987 with much success. Next is one of my favorites, the First National City Bank 6 wheel Tyrrell P34 as raced in 1977. Last is the iconic John Player Special Renault Elf in black and gold again driven by Ayrton Senna in the Portuguese Grand Prix in 1985. All are in stock and are $69.99 each.
Tomy isn’t releasing a lot of cars this year as usual, but each one is a winner. This is the Ford GT40 Mark IV driven by Mario Andretti and Bruce McLaren at the 12 Hour Sebring race of 1967, the iconic Yellow No.1 Mk IV was and still is a head-turner. Power is supplied by the Mega G+ chassis. Car has clear windows and a full color interior. $49.99 Call for a front door pickup or call in a mail order 908-322-2676.
This might be one of the coolest slot cars ever made (my opinion.) It is the Blues Brothers Dodge Monaco Bluesmobile 1/32 scale Scalextric Slot Car. This is an analog car but is Digital Plug Ready. If you have a Carrera Digital set, the Carson chip offered elsewhere on this website should work. $69.99
Hi All, The following is a message from Mario ‘the Chief’ Pisano:
Just in from Tomy AFX is this beautiful copper colored Ford GT40 with full color interior, clear windows and headlight covers (not lighted). For a limited time only this beautiful Mega G+ racer is $49.99 + tax and shipping (if needed). A front door pick up can be arranged.
After June 30 the car will be the regular Tomy announced price of $58.99.
The NJH-02 Bauer Special Edition Porsche 911 Targas have arrived and they are fantastic! Bauer has once again outdone itself! I have started to ship out cars to those who pre ordered one. Again, orders are limited to one per customer so everyone has a chance to own one of the very special HO slot cars. One of the first cars shipped out got this response in an unsolicited email:
“I just that car in the mail today, and wow that is well done. I’m still trying to figure out how he did the sunglasses! The Targa was such a good idea to have open. “
The price until May 5 is $109.99 and will go up to $129.99 after that. More than half this very limited production is already sold. Don’t miss out!
